AIIC interpreters are spread across 6 continents: their first point of contact with the Association is through one of its 23 different regions.
AIIC’s regions provide a forum for members to discuss issues relevant to their markets. Under AIIC rules, for a region to be established, at least 25 members must have their professional address registered within it. Most regions are composed of single countries, while others are made up of several.
Each region has a Bureau responsible for presenting members’ views to AIIC’s governing bodies, convening regional meetings and coordinating regional projects. The Bureau is made up of an Advisory Board member, a Regional Secretary and a Regional Treasurer, together with any additional members the region may choose to appoint.
