The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has attracted many tech companies to venture into the language service industry. They say that their innovations can reduce costs, increase efficiency, and help interpreters do their jobs better. Some even claim their technologies could soon replace interpreters.
But we are seldom consulted, and as individuals, our voices are often muted. That is why AIIC–the International Association of Conference Interpreters–would like to collect your opinions and experiences regarding various interpreting technologies, including possible AI-powered solutions. Therefore, if you are an active conference interpreter, we would like to invite you to take part in this survey.
This questionnaire covers questions related to the utility, importance, and likelihood of using different interpreting technologies in your work. The questionnaire will take around 15 minutes to complete. Your participation is highly appreciated and your responses will provide valuable insights into the current and potential use of interpreting technology in our profession. By completing the questionnaire, you are giving the interpreting community a louder and stronger voice.
