We are a very diverse region with no fewer than 7 countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden) and even more languages. Our countries have a shared history and geography with the Baltic Sea at its centre. 

The AIIC interpreters in the Region work for the private market and international institutions. Since we are all small countries, AIIC interpreters often work in teams with their Regional colleagues and travel to each other’s countries.

AIIC facts:

• Each of the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden) are called a sub-region and hold a sub-regional Assembly each year
• Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania constitute together one sub-region
• Regional Assemblies take place every three years
