Afghanistan is descending into chaos under Taliban rule and former Afghan Interpreters are top of the hit list for retribution killings. The UK government is trying to get as many of them out as possible. They will arrive in the UK exhausted, traumatised and disorientated. Building a new life after such horrors takes dedicated support.
In mid-August, the Region contacted the Sulha Alliance, an international organisation and peer support and advocacy group that has been supporting Afghan Interpreters for many years. We made a donation to their crowdfunder initiative. On 17 September, they successfully raised £23,650 with 166 supporters in 28 days.
