AIIC UK & Ireland submitted evidence to the House of Lords inquiry on UK-EU trade in services alongside accountants, architects, authors, barristers, musicians, and the Scottish and Welsh Governments. Our submission has now been published and is available on the EU Services Sub-Committee’s website. It can be downloaded here.
We emphasised that the current Brexit-related uncertainty, and probable additional obstacles, could prove very detrimental to AIIC conference interpreters based in the United Kingdom compared with their counterparts in the EU. We are especially concerned about taxation, and our ability to travel freely and offer our services to clients based in the EU.
