UN Sector Professional Delegations
The first contact is essential.
The short-term interpreter’s first point of contact is the Professional Delegation (PD) for the relevant organisation. The PDs can address Agreement compliance issues and related grievances. The PDs liaise with the organisation’s Chief Interpreter and can defer to the Negotiating Delegation concerning unresolved issues for further action. If there is no local professional delegation or if your question relates to an organisation where there is no headquarter PD, such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva (handled by the Single Professional Delegation or DPU, as are all matters related to any of the Geneva-based organisations), the Negotiating Delegation is your first point of contact.
