Outreach: University of Westminster,
London 2 March 2020

On 2 March, Francoise Comte gave a talk on AIIC to 30 students of interpreting and translation at the University of Westminster.

The course is a general "interpreting and translation" course, with two to three hours a week devoted to conference interpreting, but as many as 50% of the attendees expressed a wish ultimately to become conference interpreters. The talk was part of a series of lectures to prepare students for their professional lives, and ITI, CIOL and NRPSI were also invited to speak to the students. In her presentation, Francoise explained what AIIC is, its origins, what it does and why interpreters should join. Afterwards she answered a few questions.
