AIIC Research Grant - Supporting priority research for the conference interpreter profession

The AIIC Research Committee invites qualified researchers to apply for AIIC’s new annual Research Grant, offering an award of up to 10,000 Swiss Francs to support suitable research projects that serve the interpreting profession.  

AIIC especially encourages applications relating to research in the following areas:

  • remote simultaneous interpreting or distance interpreting, 
  • computer-assisted interpreting, and artificial intelligence-enhanced interpreting tools,
  • the 21st-century interpreter and shifts in the profession.

Applicants should complete the application form and submit it by email to the AIIC Secretariat by 31 August 2021. AIIC will advise successful applicants within the following eight to ten weeks and provide them with a funding contract.

The AIIC Research Grant serves to facilitate and enhance the relationship between the Interpreting Studies community and AIIC, providing opportunities for the Association to commission studies on topics of interest for its membership and the conference interpreter profession.
