Happy International Translation Day!

In 2017, the United Nations Organisation declared 30 September as International Translation Day, an opportunity to pay tribute to the work of language professionals. This year AIIC has decided to mark International Translation Day on 30 September with a reminder of the crucial role played by interpreters against the stark backdrop of today’s world. Today we are reflecting on the place of the interpreter in ‘bringing nations together, facilitating dialogue, understanding and cooperation, contributing to development and strengthening world peace and security’.
